On the October 2020 Network call, PAPREN leadership presented the final PAPREN vision statement and stairwell (not elevator!) pitch statements.
How will these statements help PAPREN?
Communicating PAPREN value is critical to Network success, measured in membership growth as well as quality of collaborative research and translation products. The vision captures PAPREN’s emphasis on policy and translation in creating physical activity opportunity. The pitch statements quickly convey the value of the Network for the two main audiences, researchers and practitioners. These statements can be used by PAPREN leadership and all members in helping grow the Network and increase exposure to our work.
How did the process work?
The Coordinating Center developed these key communications tools through a multi-step process. PAPREN PIs Jamie Chriqui and Stephenie Lemon were pleased with the results and applauded Network participation in the process.
The PIs acknowledge it was challenging to capture the essence of a research network as varied in membership and interests as PAPREN. Stephenie Lemon notes, “We are grateful to our External Advisory Committee and Steering Committee for helping us craft meaningful statements that convey the Network’s purpose and promise for both the research community and the practice community.” Jamie Chriqui adds, “It was amazing to see over 100 Network members participate in our online survey for final selection. Not only do the final versions reflect their views, it was a fantastic show of engagement that we’re really excited about.”
